Feeling like a grown up

(our new place!)
For the longest time I have always felt like I was still 18 years old. I felt like all of the memories I made when I was just starting college didn't seem that far off.  As of late, I am realizing that they are and I am starting to be pretty grown up. As if graduating from college and getting married didn't do it for me, here are some things that have.

Some of my Junior Guards are now in college.

My brother who was 12 when I left the house is now taller than me and has a beard people! As my husband commented on our family vacation, "John, you have more hair on your chest then I do"

I now get into my home through a garage door, not a door three floors up.
I have a hose in my lawn, you know to maintain a yard because the apartment complex no longer does it.

I have an ice dispenser in my refrigerator, no more ice trays.

And the cap of it all, opening weekend at Florida State University, I was at target shopping to then go home, watch a movie with my husband and go to sleep. While a group of girls next to me are buying fake eyelashes for the big welcome back party that night.

It is weird how these little things are making me feel more grown up. But there it is! Here is to growing up, little moments at a time.

Summer Plans

For those of you who still read this blog,
here is some exciting news.
No, I am not pregnant.
That is what people wonder now that I have married for almost two years.
TWO YEARS!
Can you believe that Mike and I have almost been married for two years?
It's crazy guys.

Well here is what is going on in old people town.

We are getting out of here in 3 weeks.
And no offense Michigan...
But I can't even wait.

We are heading down to Florida for the summer for internships.
Mike has 2 internships this summer.
1 with a Judge in Panama City
and the other is with a Corporate Real Estate company in Destin.
Which is the type of law he wants to do

Feeling so blessed.

I'm going to keep working at J. Crew and the most exciting thing of all
I have an internship too!
I am going to be interning at a interior design Firm in Destin.
I am beyond excited!
After working for a year at a job that was not in design,
it made me realize even more that design is where I want to be.
I am so excited for this opportunity.

Needless to say, Mike and I are feeling incredible blessed right now.
Summer is our favorite season of all
(duh, look where we both grew up)
and we are thinking this Summer is not going to disappoint.

We are leaving in 3 weeks by way of New York City!
No, I have not started packing.

We cannot wait to get going.
Here is to long days, warm nights, and the sand between our toes.
Destin, are you ready for us??

Discoveries

My Father in law sent me this video the other day about the House of Lehi. Definitely worth a watch.

There's No Place Like Home

(only Picture from Break, family photo's)
Never have I understood this phrase as well until I moved to Michigan.
I am trying to remain positive about being here and honestly it has been fun.
But, as some of you know, the past few months here have been a bit challenging for me.
After going to California for Christmas, I can honestly say a big part it is because of the family and friends we have out in California.
All of the highlights from our trip revolve around catching up friends and family and we only wished we had more time to do so.
Now because of our poor picture taking skills, here are a few memories to help me remember the trip by.
  • Getting picked up from th airport on Christmas Eve and seeing the sun for the 1st time in months.
  • Going to the movies with the fam.
  • Seeing old friends at Elissa and trevor's wedding
  • Sitting around the couch all playing Bejewled Blitz on our Phones.
  • Chick-fila with Eric
  • Double dates with Karly and Dave
  • Beach with Kathryn
  • Spending time with my long lost hubby
  • Having to go to all of Mike's restaurants that he missed
  • Family pictures
  • Nails with my mom
  • Having both sets of parents in town.
  • Dinner with the Hesters
Needless to say, Christmas 2012 was a big hit for us and just what we needed to recharge our engines for this not so cold Michigan Winter.

P.S. Happy Birthday to my Wonderful Mother! We love you!
