Snow Day!

Growing up in California, I never got to experience a snow day.
I always wanted too when I was young.
But instead just lived my life through the movie, Snow Day.
Well today I got my first snow day.
I seriously got so excited last night just waiting for the call.
And at 4:53 in the morning, I received a calling saying that school was officially closed for the day.
Now this is the first snow in Michigan and I was kind of laughing when Michigan is supposedly has these "rough winters" and then it snows once and they cancel school.
But let me tell you, it is not like Utah folks.
In a matter of hours we had a foot of snow.
And they do not plow their streets that fast like Utah does.
It made me grateful for a couple of things.
First four-wheel drive. I love you.
Second that we live off of a main road that was plowed earlier.
All in all though it was beautiful.
I woke up to children playing outside and so wished I was a kid so I could go play with them.
Instead I cleaned the entire house, did the laundry, finished putting up the Christmas decorations, worked out and did a little bit of organizing.
Snow Days, I love you.

Yes we are still alive.

Just busy and making no time to blog.
That is why I am so grateful for this break.
It was much needed.
On Thursday we cooked our first Thanksgiving dinner.
Needless to say it was adventure but we were both proud of our efforts.
Friday I worked early then we went went shopping at the outlets and walked around Ann Arbor.
Other than that we have been loving sleeping in, eating left overs and getting ready for Christmas.
Thanksgiving + Black Friday + Christmas Decorations = one of the best weekends of the year.
Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving.

So many ideas

Pinterest is making me wish that it was around when I was planning our wedding.
It is also giving me so many great ideas for Halloween: I need to throw 5 parties just to be able to decorate/ make all of these fun ideas.
Here are some of my favorite Halloween pins so far.

Chi-town

Since Chicago is only 3 hours away we decided to head down for the weekend!
We drove down on Friday and after we checked into our hotel we headed downtown and did the architectural river tour.
I don't know how much Mike enjoyed it but I think I enjoyed it enough for the both of us.
Then we started walking down magnificent mile.
After about 20 minutes of being to depressed that we are to broke to by anything we left and headed to Navy Pier.
For dinner we had Chicago deep dish Pizza then we went to the top of the John Hancock Building. Something I learned on this trip is that our children are definitely going to be scared of heights.
The next day we went we headed to the Buckingham Fountain, the bean and then we proceeded to go see Wrigley Field, the Bears stadium and the Bulls stadium.
I think I made up for making Mike go on the architectural river tour.

It was such a fun 24 hours and made me miss living in  big clean city aka London!
Can't wait till we head back!

Crazy. Stupid. Love.

I know I am a little late on this one. But we saw Crazy. Stupid. Love last night. Mike and I were laughing so hard at parts. The other audience go-ers may or may not have laughed at our laughs at one point. Anyways.. its cute.

ps. one day I will update on where we have been all summer long. Until then.

Dear California,

Oh how I miss you. Don't get me wrong. For the most part I am loving Michigan. Except for these little things. I have 15 mosquito bites, 4 on my face which makes for a pretty picture. And I have killed 20 so far in our house. That is the last time that I am leaving the balcony door open.... Good luck sleeping soundly tonight

P.S. the last one I killed, its nose was as big as in the picture.. but real. Ohhh how I will never get used to this.

Love me some summer

 via
I LOVE summer.
I love the warm weather.
I love that it stays light out for so long.
I love Summer reading by the beach. Just finished These Is My Words. A little hard to get into but then your hooked!
I love that my sun turns my skin brown.
I love traveling. I feel like Michael and I have been non- stop traveling since May. It is the best!
I love Summer Weddings.
I love summer movies. Believe it or not, we have gone to the movie theater every. single. week. this summer. Obsessive? Yes. I think we should just own a movie theater one day.
I love the fact that DC tastes even better and more refreshing in the summer.
Sonic happy hour =<3
I Love. Love. the beach. Michael and I are always talking about where we want to live when we grow up. As most of you know we are clueless. But I think after traveling across the country this summer the beach just feels like home to us.
Beach days are by far the best days.
I love summer foods. Fresh fruit. Grilled food. yumm.
Frozen yogurt on a hot summer day. Currently loving watermelon with mochi from 32 degrees at the Destin Outlets.
I love summer sales.
I am also loving, maxi skirts/dresses, denim, pearls, high buns almost everyday, Moroccan Oil (Try the curling mousse. Does wonders), and the color coral.
It is the best time of the year. Hands. Down. Obv.

A Year in Review

A year ago today Mike and I were married!
People keep asking me if it feels like a year since we have been married.
And it really doesn't.
The whole time we were dating/ engaged we were counting down to something.
When we would see each other, when we would be flying here, when we would get married.
Now there is no counting down and the days have flown by.
I have been thinking a lot about of all we have done together in the past year as husband and wife.
I thought, for remembrance sake, it would be fun to name a few.
